How to play Teen Patti on DmFirst
Last updated · October 2026Teen Patti — literally "three cards" — is the card game most of India grew up with, the staple of festivals and late family evenings. On DmFirst it plays for real rupees any time, in hands that wrap up in seconds. Below are the rules, the rankings and what wins a pot. Ready? Open Teen Patti, or read more guides first.
The basics
It uses a standard 52-card deck, and everyone gets three cards. You win either by holding the strongest three-card hand at the show, or by pushing everyone else out before any cards are revealed. Each hand opens with a small forced stake — the boot — which seeds the pot, and then play moves round the table as people bet, call or fold until only the winner is left.
Hands, strongest first
- Trail / Trio — three of the same rank, like three Aces. Nothing beats it.
- Pure Sequence — three in a row, all one suit.
- Sequence (Run) — three in a row across mixed suits.
- Colour — three of one suit that are not in sequence.
- Pair — two cards of matching rank.
- High Card — none of the above; your top single card decides it.
Same type of hand on both sides? The higher cards take it — and a Trail of Aces is as good as it gets.
Blind or seen
You choose how to play each turn. Go blind and you bet without peeking, usually for a smaller stake; play seen and you look first, typically betting more. Blind keeps your hand a mystery and your costs down; seen lets you commit based on what you actually hold.
A hand, step by step
- Run your DmFirst login — or register and deposit first.
- Open Teen Patti and take a table that suits your stake.
- The boot goes in and three cards are dealt to each player.
- On your turn: bet (blind or seen), call, raise or fold.
- When two of you are left, a show compares hands and the stronger one scoops the pot.
- Anything you win is added to your balance as the hand settles.
Playing it well
- Know the rankings instantly. For a beginner, reading your hand at a glance is the biggest early edge.
- Drop weak hands fast. Folding junk saves more than chasing it ever wins.
- Vary blind and seen. The odd blind bet keeps opponents guessing without exposing your cards.
- Cap the table. Decide your limit before you sit, and leave once you hit it.
Teen Patti blends skill and luck, so even a big hand can fall. These notes are about playing sensibly and having fun — not about a sure thing.
